Tim Hortons expands relief efforts in PH

Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons has expanded its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative in the Philippines to reach more Filipinos, especially those serving as COVID-19 frontliners.

In a statement, the company’s Philippine unit said it intends to provide more meals and other essential goods to front¬liners and urban poor communities.

For this effort, Tim Hortons uses a portion of its proceeds from every purchase made via take-out or delivery to fund ongoing COVID-19 efforts.

The initiative has already provided aid to 19 hospitals and health centers, as well as 32 different checkpoints, urban poor communities, and police stations across Metro Manila and Calabarzon, according to the company.

“Our goal is to show our support to all our frontliners who are working tirelessly to keep everyone safe. As a coffee and restaurant chain, it is our commitment to continuously provide relief given the increasing need for food donations in hospitals and marginalized communities,” said Tim Hortons Philippines President & CEO Rickie Yap.

“We are grateful for all our partners and guests who continue to work with us in reaching those who need help the most,” he added.Providing care through purpose-driven collaboration, Tim Hortons has also partnered with HSBC for its Fill Your Cup Promo where HSBC card holders can donate their earned Tim Hortons coffee from their rewards to medical frontliners
