As tragic as they may seem, these stories brought the best among humanity. Locally, there\u2019s Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, Gabriela Silang, and more, who continue to inspire Filipinos with their bravery and national pride today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During our war against the COVID-19 in the past year, new heroes emerged in the form of medical workers. Doctors, nurses, and other health care frontliners continue the battle until today, hoping to free the country and their fellow Filipino from the threats of the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s what global coffee chain Tim Hortons aims to celebrate on the Philippines\u2019 Independence Day, the valor and selfless service of medical professionals. The Canadian brand expands its #TimCaresPH CSR initiative with the Freedom of Espresso campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The campaign encourages all customers of Tim Hortons and its partners to support those in the medical field, essential workers, and government departments who are stationed in the satellite areas for COVID-19 vaccination. From June 12 to July 12, 2021, every purchase of Tim Hortons Red-Eye series drink\u2013Hot or Iced coffee, French Vanilla, and Iced Capp with extra shot of espresso via dine-in, takeout or delivery\u2013the coffee brand and its partners will donate a cup of coffee or hot chocolate to a frontliner in selected COVID-19 vaccination satellite centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are truly humbled by the heroism of all frontliners and as we focus on looking after the health and well-being of ourselves, our loved ones and our colleagues, it is equally important to reassure our frontliners that they are not alone in the fight against COVID-19 virus, and we will together, manage through this challenging time,\u201d says Rickie Yap, Tim Hortons Philippines president and CEO. \u201cTim Hortons is committed to continuously provide relief given the increasing need for food donations in hospitals and marginalized communities. We are grateful for all our partners and guests who continue to work with us in reaching those who need help the most.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like a warm cup of coffee, the coffee shop promises to bring comfort to Filipinos during difficult times.
